Ferdinand de Saussure
Ferdinand de Saussure (1857 – 1913) was a linguist whose ideas created a foundation for many significant developments in linguistics in the 20th century. Linguistics is the study of language, of how language makes meaning and works as a system. He compared the structural systems between language. One of his many concepts was semiotics which is the structural system of analysing how language works to create meaning.
